Theming
Override tokens, scale the GUI, replace fonts and textures.
Override tokens
Themes are declared after tokens. Override only what you want to change:
@import "tailwindcss";
@import "@tennantite/tokens/css/tokens.css";
@theme {
--color-mc-panel: #d9c7a3;
--color-mc-panel-overlay: rgb(20 10 0 / 80%);
--color-mc-accent-green: #4f9a35;
}
Change GUI scale
:root {
--mc-scale: 3;
}
--mc-gui, --spacing, gui() and nine-slice borders all follow. Layout coordinates remain vanilla GUI px values; no component code changes.
Why not @theme
--mc-scale / --mc-gui live in a plain :root rule instead of @theme:
Tailwind v4 inlines references between theme variables at build time, which
would break subtree scaling. Also, CSS custom-property chains resolve and
freeze at the declaring element — local scaling needs the mc-scale-scope
class, see Scaling & responsiveness.
Replace the font
@font-face {
font-family: "MyPixel";
src: url("/fonts/my-pixel.woff2") format("woff2");
font-display: swap;
}
@theme {
--font-mc: "MyPixel", "Microsoft YaHei", sans-serif;
}
No Chinese pixel font
The project does not adapt a Chinese pixel font. Chinese falls back to the system sans-serif stack; that is a spec decision, not an omission.
Replace textures
Texture variables can be overridden locally:
.mc-tex-btn {
--mc-btn-fill: #4a6b2a;
}
Replacing --mc-btn-frame swaps the button nine-slice source. The panel border-image is declared directly on .mc-tex-panel; override that rule or add a higher-specificity .mc-tex-panel declaration. Textures are data URIs and make no external image requests.
Light and dark
The library does not ship a light / dark switch. A light panel is part of the Minecraft look; to reskin the whole UI, override --color-mc-* and site-* in @theme. This site itself is dark-only.
